TANGO SALON

This section of the course of the Argentinean tango class teaches 3 patterns: linear, wavelike and circular motions. The lesson starts with a model that shows the steps and motions (the what), followed by the technique (the how) continued by the musicality of the motion (the when) and refined by the dance elements that can be used by the dancers to express their individuality (the feelings). The class includes training to develop equilibrium, signaling, couple's coordination, figures, sequences and routines for the dancer's rendition of the music.

TANGO FANTASIA

This section of the course of the tango class teaches the lead and follow in the use of open versus close embrace, ganchos, boleos, barridas, sentadas, aerials. The elements learned in previous courses will be used to develop the couple's figures, sequences and routines they might use to choreograph a presentation. The lesson will include practices in the use of performance space, choreography, opening and closing figures.

MILONGA

Form of ancient style of tango with a six beat base music called "Milonga" There are lessons for beginners, intermediate, and advanced Milonga dancers and workshops for dancing themes specializing in Milonga dancing.

There are dance events called milongas, which are to be distinguished from the form of dancing six beat syncopated music of the early style of tango. During these social dances usually the light is low, the music has an alternating musical base and tonalities from strong to passionate, and then turning into a lamenting adagio.

VALSE

In Argentinean Valse the syllabus includes the study of the rhythm, use of the figures previously learned to interpret the valse beat with emphasis on the use of circular motions using the molinete &/or counter giro, semi-circular and sinusoidal or wave-like figures that could be used in the interpretation of the time and dynamics of the tango valse. There are lessons for beginners, intermediate, and advanced Argentinean Valse dancers and workshops for dancing themes specializing in Argentinean Valse dancing. We bring guest instructors every month who specialize in various techniques of the different genres of dancing.
